The year 2025 marks a special occasion – the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mikolojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. To honour this milestone, we invite you to the exhibition “The World of Čiurlionis”, a long-term interdisciplinary art project dedicated to one of Lithuania’s most famous artists.
Times change, but the magic of Čiurlionis’s work remains timeless – his art still inspires, connects and speaks from heart to heart. The project spans not only visual art, music and design, but also touches on contemporary themes such as intergenerational communication, education, creative exchange and the promotion of Lithuanian culture.
The exhibition and creative activities are a great opportunity to rediscover the world of Čiurlionis’s light, to unleash one’s own creativity, to experience inspiring moments and share them with others. The project includes “Letters to Čiurlionis” – creative interpretations by first-year Fashion Design students from Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA), inspired by the life of M. K. Čiurlionis, “Čiurlionis’s Beloved” – a fashion design exhibition (by VAA designer Prof. Jolanta Talaikytė), and “Let's Grow Our Wings” – creative workshops for children. During the workshops, children will interpret one of the iconic symbols of M. K. Čiurlionis’s work – the wings of an angel – by deconstructing them and using various drawing tools. By colouring and gluing the angel’s wings, children will have the opportunity not only to express themselves artistically, but also to discover a deep connection with the work of M. K. Čiurlionis. These workshops will not only be a creative challenge, but also a fun adventure, allowing to see the world through the eyes of an artist and at the same time to unleash your imagination and ideas.
